Rome Coliseum
The Coliseum in Rome is not the only building called the Coliseum in Italy (there’s another one in Verona) but it’s definitely the most famous. The scene of gladiator fights and other games of Ancient Rome, it’s one of the busiest tourist attractions in Rome.
Insider tip: There are two great ways to see the Coliseum. Take the underground Rome Metro to the Colosseo station. As you come up the steps to the surface you’ll see the unique sight of modern ticker barriers with the Coliseum right behind them, across the street. Next, be sure to have a real Rome coffee in the cafe that’s on the only raised street next to the Coliseum. Because the road is on half the height of the Coliseum you’ll great a view into this ancient building. And the coffee is great, of course.
